Thomas L. Carson is Professor of Philosophy Emeritus at Loyola University Chicago. He taught previously at Virginia Tech (1977-1985) and UCLA (1976). He held an NEH Fellowship during 1980-81. Carson graduated from Saint Olaf College in 1972 and received his Ph.D. in Philosophy from Brown University in 1977.
Carson is the author of The Status of Morality (Reidel, 1984), Value and the Good Life (Notre Dame, 2000), Lying and Deception: Theory and Practice (Oxford, 2010), and Lincoln's Ethics (Cambridge, 2015). In addition, he has co-edited two other books (with Paul Moser), Morality and the Good Life (Oxford, 1997) and Moral Relativism (Oxford, 2001). He can be contacted at [email protected].
